Special Session Announcement

Ronald,

The Texas Legislature is coming back to Austin to finish the job during a special session starting on July 18th.

At the beginning of the 85th Legislative Session, I declared four emergency items:
  • Reforming Child Protective Services and our Foster Care System to keep our children safe.
  • Banning Sanctuary Cities to keep our communities safe.
  • Ethics reform to reduce the perception of corruption.
  • Calling for a Convention of States to rein in an out of control federal government.

These priorities were passed by the Legislature and are now law--these and so many more.

Considering all the success of the session, we should not be where we are today.
A Special Session was entirely avoidable. Tell the Legislature you support my call to finish the job during the special session!

I am announcing a Special Session to complete unfinished business.
If I am going to ask taxpayers to foot the bill for a Special Session, I intend to make it count.

The Legislature is coming back to finish the job on July 18th to complete 20 different items that I have called for covering issues relating to taxpayer protections, safety, pro-life legislation, and more.
Let your lawmakers know you support my call to finish the job during a special session.

Legislators have six weeks to prepare for the Special Session, and then another 30 days to pass these proposals. If they fail it isn’t for lack of time. It would be because of a lack of will. Sign to make certain your lawmakers understand how serious Texans are about finishing the job!

Sincerely,

Greg Abbott
